Getting the Event Started

A big shoutout to Aarti, Keerthi, Kushwanth, and the registration volunteers who helped manage registrations and ensured attendees had a smooth start to the conference.

The event was supported by a wonderful group of volunteers who stepped in across registrations, coordination, booth activities, and other event responsibilities:

Day 1: PostgreSQL-Native AI

Building PostgreSQL-Native AI Systems and Autonomous Agents

Sivasankar · CTO – OpenSource DB

Day 1 featured an intensive training session exploring how PostgreSQL can become an integral part of modern AI systems.

The session covered AI-driven database orchestration, pgvector-based semantic search, RAG, LLMOps, distributed ML with Ray, and in-database AI.

Participants got a practical view of building production-ready AI systems around PostgreSQL.

Day 2: AI, HA & PostgreSQL Internals

Keynote: The Value Shift

How Artificial Intelligence is Redefining the Economics of Software Delivery

Hari Kiran & Vishnudas Prabhu Kunjibettu

The keynote explored how AI is shifting technology services from effort-based pricing to outcome-based value.

The session introduced the Value Shift framework and shared practical approaches to Outcome-Based Revenue, including measurable KPIs, hybrid pricing models, and outcome-driven delivery.

Designing a Near-Zero RPO and RTO PostgreSQL Architecture

Venkat Akhil Pavuluri · Solutions Architect –  OpenSource DB

A deep dive into building highly available PostgreSQL infrastructure using Patroni, etcd, Keepalived, HAProxy, and PgBouncer.

The session focused on how these components work together for automated failover, connection management, and near-zero RPO/RTO.

PostgreSQL at the Epicenter of AI

Sivasankar · CTO – OpenSource DB

This session explored PostgreSQL as a platform for modern AI workloads—from pgvector and RAG to distributed training and in-database inference.

It demonstrated how PostgreSQL can reduce data movement and simplify AI architectures by bringing storage, retrieval, orchestration, and inference closer together.

Under the Hood of PostgreSQL

The Shared Memory Architecture That Enables MVCC and Concurrency

Shameer Bhupathi · Senior DBA – OpenSource DB

A look beneath the PostgreSQL engine to understand MVCC, shared buffers, WAL, locks, checkpoints, BGWriter, and Autovacuum.

The session connected these internals to real-world performance tuning, concurrency, and troubleshooting.

Community Hub: Connect, Share & Discover

The Community Hub was a space to step away from the formal sessions and connect with the wider PostgreSQL ecosystem.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet community members, exchange ideas, discover projects and initiatives, and have conversations beyond the conference schedule.

It was a place for networking, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and building new connections—one of the many elements that made Hyderabad PGDays more than just a technical conference.

The Day 2 Highlight: Boxing Bout

Four PostgreSQL practitioners. Four perspectives. One ring.

🔴 Rushabh Lathia — Principal PostgreSQL Developer
🔵 Vaishnavi Vadapalli — Young programmer and vibe-coding enthusiast
⚖️ Ameen Abbas & Soqra Banu Rumi — Bringing their own engineering perspectives
🥊 Hari Kiran — Referee

The Boxing Bout brought together bold questions, contrasting opinions, practical experiences, and plenty of energy, making it one of the most memorable moments of the conference.
