Building Bonds Beyond the Event: Celebrating Community Connections

November marks the start of Networking November, a month where we celebrate the power of community, collaboration, and connection — the foundation of everything we do at OpenSource-DB.

For us, Networking November isn’t just a theme; it’s a reflection of our values — that innovation happens when people come together to share knowledge, ideas, and inspiration. This first week captured that spirit beautifully at Open Source India 2025.

OpenSource-DB at Open Source India 2025
We began the month with great excitement by setting up our OpenSource-DB booth and stall at Open Source India, one of the country’s largest open-source gatherings.
Our booth became a lively space for conversations, learning, and collaboration, with visitors eager to explore PostgreSQL, discuss open-source technologies, and learn how OpenSource-DB is helping build thriving data communities.

A huge thank-you to Sovenath and Amar, who led booth activities with energy and enthusiasm, engaging attendees and sharing our initiatives.

We were delighted that Padma MP and Pranay Shree from Aiven joined us, making the experience even more memorable. Their collaboration and support reflected the strong partnership between Aiven and OpenSource-DB, both dedicated to strengthening the open-source ecosystem.

Throughout the event, the booth drew students, developers, and professionals who wanted to learn, connect, and explore ways to contribute. The excitement and curiosity we witnessed reaffirmed how powerful community presence can be.

Postgres Women India – Inspiring Conversations

A major highlight was the Postgres Women India (PWI) talk, which resonated deeply with the audience.
The session showcased the mission and journey of PWI, empowering women in data and open-source technology through mentorship, skill-building, and inclusion. The response was overwhelming, with participants, especially students and women professionals, coming forward to connect and explore how they could get involved.

This collaboration between OpenSource-DB and Postgres Women India demonstrates how community partnerships can spark awareness, representation, and long-term impact.

Among the many inspiring interactions at our booth, one that stood out was with a student group from Christ College.
After visiting our stall, they reached out to share their excitement and expressed interest in hosting a PostgreSQL workshop on their campus. Their enthusiasm perfectly embodies what Networking November is all about — new collaborations, shared learning, and empowering the next generation to embrace open source.

Each connection and conversation added strength to our growing open-source network.

Reflection of the Week

“Networking isn’t about who you meet — it’s about who you build with.”
As we continue through Networking November, we are reminded that every handshake, every chat, and every shared idea contributes to a stronger, more connected community.
